Bank of New York Mellon Health Coach Initiative
Living with chronic healthcare needs or illness can be challenging for everyone – you, your family and your friends. That's why Bank of New York Mellon is offering the Health Coach Initiative, a free program for all benefited U.S. employees, spouses and dependents enrolled in the Bank of New York Mellon Medical Plan who are pregnant or have asthma, diabetes, cardiac diseases, chronic low back pain or depression.
Advances have been made in the daily management of chronic health care needs, allowing many people to feel their best every day. Bank of New York Mellon's Health Coach Initiative is voluntary, confidential and wellness oriented. Employees who choose to participate will have an opportunity to work one-on-one with a supportive health coach who will provide information, support and guidance on ways to maintain the best possible health while living with a chronic illness. Because each of us is unique in how illness or pregnancy affects us, the support will include collaboration with you and your doctor to develop a health plan of action specific to your needs. This new benefit is a complimentary program to the services received from your own doctor and is not meant to replace the services or advice of your physician.
Bank of New York Mellon has partnered with APS Healthcare to provide the Health Coach Initiative services. A leader in patient-centered services, APS has more than 10 years experience in helping people with chronic healthcare needs. Their staff of registered nurses, dietitians, physical therapists and respiratory therapists, as well as certified diabetes educators and clinical social workers, is available to help you feel your best every day.
All employees and their dependents covered by the Bank of New York Mellon Medical Plan who are pregnant or have asthma, diabetes, cardiac diseases, chronic low back pain or depression are automatically eligible to receive the services of Health Coach Initiative. Participants will receive newsletters, help with accessing covered benefits, information and support based on your needs and ongoing one-on-one contact with specially trained professionals.
