APS Healthcare Appoints Vice President of Development for APS Public Programs
APS Healthcare, one of the country's leading specialty healthcare companies, today announced David Rogers has been appointed to serve as vice president of development for APS Public Programs, the company's government services business unit.
In his role, Rogers will be responsible for developing and marketing specialized programs to state, federal and local public entities for APS' Public Programs. He will also lead health program design and implementation efforts.
“David brought visionary thinking to the Idaho and Florida Medicaid programs and his leadership will allow APS to continue to be a premier provider of services to the Medicaid market,” said David Hunsaker, president, APS Public Programs. “As APS Public Programs continues to grow, his expertise will be invaluable in helping us continue to deliver innovative, industry-leading products and services to public programs throughout the country.”
Rogers comes to APS with nearly 18 years of senior leadership experience in the public healthcare sector. He previously served as administrator for the Division of Medicaid for the state of Idaho's Department of Health and Welfare. As Medicaid director, he was responsible for the state's Medicaid and children's health insurance program, which covered more than 180,000 lives.
Prior to his leadership role in Idaho, Rogers was the administrator for Medicaid physician access system, MediPass, for the state of Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration. In this role, he was responsible for managing health benefits through the Medicaid managed care program to more than 1.2 million Medicaid beneficiaries. Rogers also served as the administrator for long-term care and behavioral health for the state of Florida .
Rogers also worked with the state of Florida's Department of Children and Families in high level positions in the Office of Adult Services and the Mental Health Program Office.
Rogers received a bachelor's degree and a certificate in health services administration from Florida State University in Tallahassee.
