APS Healthcare's Commercial Division Wins 11 New and Renewed Accounts

APS Healthcare, one of the country’s leading specialty healthcare companies, has recently been awarded nine new care management and behavioral health/employee assistance program (EAP) contracts and has renewed two of its large state employee behavioral health contracts.

New awards include a mix of customer types, such as Taft Hartley Trust Funds, health plans, employers in the pharmaceutical and technology industries, as well as a local municipality who selected APS to deliver stand alone and integrated programs that include health and wellness, disease management, utilization management, behavioral healthcare, EAP and work/life services. The new and renewed accounts represent approximately 700,000 lives.

Cerner, a leading developer of innovative healthcare information technology solutions, and the Indiana Comprehensive Health Insurance Association (ICHIA), a state-funded high-risk insurance pool, are among the larger new customer awards for APS.  Cerner selected APS to provide services designed to support the specific health needs of the company’s associates and their family members. Services provided to Cerner include condition management programs for diabetes, depression and maternity, along with comprehensive medical utilization management and case management services. 

ICHIA selected APS to provide a full array of integrated care management services that include disease management programs for asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, diabetes, coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and low pack pain, as well as medical and behavioral health utilization management and case management.

In addition, two of APS’ large state employee customers have renewed their contracts with APS after competitive re-bidding processes. This includes the state of South Carolina who renewed its contract with APS to manage the state’s behavioral healthcare benefits, as well as another state customer where APS was selected to continue to provide integrated EAP and behavioral healthcare services.
