APS Healthcare Receives New URAC Accreditations for Case Management
and Health Utilization Management

APS Healthcare, one of the country’s leading specialty healthcare companies, has been awarded new case management and health utilization management accreditations from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based healthcare accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the healthcare industry.

The case management accreditation applies to APS operations in Las Vegas, and Hilo and Honolulu in Hawaii, adding to three other sites previously accredited for case management. The health utilization management accreditation is for APS operations in Puerto Rico. Three APS sites have been previously accredited for disease management, and three for health utilization management. 

URAC’s case management accreditation standards address approaches to ensuring appropriate patient protections have been established. The URAC health utilization management standards establish consistency in UM processes. The URAC disease management standards address the tools needed to better assess and respond to the needs of health plan members with chronic disease to achieve the best outcomes.
